Uttar Pradesh Combined Agriculture And Technology Entrance Test (UPCATET) - Exam Pattern

Exam Pattern:

UPCATET examination pattern is different for various undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

Under Graduate Program:

1. The question paper comprises 200 multiple choice questions complete in three hours duration.

2. There are four groups of paper: PCB, PCM, PAG, and PHS

3. Students appearing in the PCB Group can take admission in subjects such as Agriculture, Fisheries, Horticulture, Home Science, Forestry and Veterinary Science.

4. Candidates applying for PCM group can secure admission in Agriculture, Horticulture, Home Science and B.Tech programs.

5. PAG Group comprises Agriculture, Fisheries, Horticulture, Home Science, Forestry, and B.Tech in Agriculture Engineering and Biotechnology subjects.

6. The PHS Group in UPCATET is only meant for candidates seeking admission in B.Sc Home Science subject.

Note:-

Students who have studied PCMB Subjects i.e. (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology) in XII standard can either opt. for PCB or PCM paper

Post Graduate Program:

1. The pattern for postgraduate programs is based on the syllabus prescribed in the graduation of the respective disciplines.

2. Duration of pg courses exam is 3 hours excepted MBA.

3. It consists of 200 multiple choice questions

For MBA (Agriculture Business):

1. Students have to appear for the screening test which consists of 100 Multiple Choice Questions

2. Time duration to complete the test is 2 hours

3. Those students who have qualified the exam will be shortlisted on the basis of merit list for Group Discussion and Personal Interview

4. Group Discussion and Personal Interview shall carry 50 and 150 marks.

Ph.D Program:

1. The time duration to complete the PhD test is 2 hours.

2. The paper consist of 100 multiple choice questions carrying 300 marks.

3. The paper is divided into three sections i.e. A, B and C.

Marking Scheme:

1. For every correct answer, 3 marks are awarded to the students.

2. Candidates are advised to read the questions carefully because for every wrong answer 1 mark will be deducted from the total marks.

3. No marks are deducted for the unattempted questions.
