Vidyavaridhi Entrance Test (VVET) - Syllabus

Syllabus:

The candidates, appearing for this test are expected to-

  • Have sufficient knowledge in the subject offered at Acharya/M.A./PG level.
  • Have sufficient general knowledge about Indian History and its culture, Sanskrit literature, and the various stages of the development of language.
  • Have sufficient knowledge in the subject Research Methodology & Manuscriptlogy.
  • Have sufficient general knowledge of the contemporary world and the constitutional structure of modern India.
  • For entrance test, there will be three sections in single question paper with maximum marks of 100. Total Marks for test are 100.
Section-A (Common to all applicants) (75 Questions):
Part A - Research and Reasoning Aptitude (50 Questions):
  • Research Aptitude
  • Logical/Analytical Aptitude
  • Comprehension Ability
Part B - Proficiency in Sanskrit Language (25 Questions):
  • Sanskrit Grammar
  • General Awareness of Sanskrit Literature
  • General knowledge (India and Indian Society and culture)
  • Gradual development of Sanskrit language in various periods and sciences.
  • Various religions and philosophies (prevalent in India/originated in India)
  • Fundamentals of all the disciplines (Shastras). (Basic principles only)
  • Manuscript Science/general introductory knowledge about research- methodology. (References, footnotes, preparation of index of referred works, annexure, knowledge of other scripts etc.)

  • School of Veda-Vedanga & Vedic Science (Vyakarana Shastra, Jyotish Shastra, Veda / Paurohitya / Karmakanda, Vedanga & Veda Bhashya)
  • School of Education (Shikshashastra)
  • School of Language, Literature and Culture (Sahitya, Puranetihasa, English, Indian Languages –Hindi, Bangla, Odiya, Nepali, Dogri, Malayalama, Kannada, Marathi, Maithili, and other regional language, Natyashastra)
  • School of Shastric Knowledge System (Dharmashastra, Manuscriptology and Palaeography)
  • School of Darshan (Bauddha Darshan & Pali, Vedanta, Nyaya, Darshan, Jain Darshan & Prakrit, Mimansa, Sankhya Yoga Darshan)
  • School of Contemporary Knowledge Systems & Humanities (Social Science – Political Science, Economics, History, Sociology, Geography & Any other Discipline, Commerce, Business & Public Administration)
  • School of Multidisciplinary Science and Technology (Computer Science & Natural Language Processing, Linguistic and Translation Studies).
  • School of Yogic Science & Holistic Health Practices (Yogic Sciences & Spirituality, Ayurveda & Naturopathy)In specific case of research, the school other than university may approved with collaborating institutions based on MoUs.
Total Marks - 100
  • For each question will be Multiple Choice Question with only one correct answer. By ticking the correct answer, a candidate’s response will be recorded. If no answer is marked for any question, it will be treated no response, and no mark will be awarded for such an answer. All the questions will be in bi-lingual mode Sanskrit and English.
  • One mark per question is scheduled. There is no minus marking.
