How to Apply

Candidates are required to apply online through the E-application process only. Please read through this page before filling in the application form.
Candidates facing technical problems while filling in the application form may call 022-25525252 (Monday to Saturday and public holidays - Timing 10:00 am to 6:00 pm).

General Instructions about applying:
  • Candidates can apply for a maximum of three programmes across any two of the TISS Campuses. They are advised to make their choice of programmes carefully after reading the programme descriptions. Change of programmes will not be allowed once the admission is completed.
  • Candidates are requested to carefully read through the eligibility criteria mentioned here before filling up the form.
  • Unemployed candidates, whose parent’s / guardian’s annual income from all the sources for the Financial Year 2020-21 is less than Rs.2.5 Lakhs for SC/ST and Rs.1 lakh for OBC(NC) are required to pay Rs.250/- as Concessional Application Fee for each programme. However, they should upload the necessary certificates.
  • Candidates have to upload/attach relevant certificates strictly in the format mentioned here. Please refer to Table 1 for ‘Certificates / Documents to be uploaded. The Institute also takes steps to have the Caste/Tribe/Non-creamy layer/ Income certificates verified by the competent authorities before OPI and post-admission and those found to have submitted manipulated certificates at any stage of their study, will be asked to leave the programme.
  • The application fee for each study programme is Rs.1000+bank charges (if being paid by Credit card/ Debit card/ Net Banking) or Rs.1000 + bank charges (if being paid through the bank by cash). Candidates are required to pay this amount for every programme she/he applies for. For more details refer to the section 'Application fee payment' below. For SC/ST/OBC(NC) candidates, the application fee is Rs. 250/- per programme + bank charges. For SC/ST candidates, the application fee is Rs. 500/- per programme + bank charges.
  • A candidate can apply for multiple programmes and pay for each of those programmes in ONE online form. Candidates SHOULD NOT fill more than one online application form. If a candidate is found to have filled more than one online application form, all applications will be cancelled.
Certificates/Documents to be uploaded:
  • General - Photograph, Signature, TISS copy of challan (if paid by cash).
  • SC / ST (Annual income less than Rs.2.5 lakhs) - Photograph, Signature, Caste / Tribe Certificate, Income Certificate for the financial year 2020-21, TISS copy of challan (if paid by cash),
  • SC / ST (Annual income more than Rs.2.5 lakhs) - Photograph, Signature, TISS copy of challan (if paid by cash), Caste / Tribe Certificate.
  • OBC (NC) (Annual income less than Rs.1 lakh) - Photograph, Signature, Income Certificate for the financial year 2020-21, Other Backward Class (Non-Creamy Layer) certificate issued after 01-04-2021, by the District Magistrate / Deputy Commissioner / Tahsildar, TISS copy of challan (if paid by cash).
  • OBC(Non-Creamy Layer) (Annual income more than Rs.1 lakh but less than Rs. 8 lakhs) - Photograph, Signature, TISS copy of challan (if paid by cash),
    OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) certificate issued after 01-04-2021 by the District Magistrate / Deputy Commissioner / Tahsildar is Valid.
    OBC(NC) CERTIFICATE issued before April 1, 2021, will not be considered valid.
  • PWD - Photograph, Signature, TISS copy of challan (if paid by cash), and PWD certificate.
  • KM - Photograph, Signature, TISS copy of challan (if paid by cash), and KM certificate.
  • Armed Forces - Photograph, Signature, TISS copy of challan (if paid by cash), and Armed Force certificate

Note 1: Candidates applying through the online application form will have to upload the certificates mentioned above. Those who are submitting a hard copy of the application form should post along with the application form the above-mentioned documents attested by a School Headmaster or a Principal of College or a Gazetted Officer (refer to Reservation Section on the admission website). Requests received without the above Certificates will be rejected and no communication will be sent in this regard.

Note 2: SC/ST candidates whose annual family income is <=250000 (2.5 lac) and OBC(NC) candidates whose annual family income is <=100000 have to upload an Income certificate for the Financial Year 2020-2021 issued by Revenue Officer

New Registration Instructions:
  • In order to start online application form, you have to register in the website using your email address.
  • Please enter a correct working email address as the new registration link will be sent to this email id when you click on the ‘Register’ button.
  • Please read the email carefully and follow the instructions to continue your application process.
  • In case you do not receive any email, please check your ‘SPAM’ or ‘JUNK’ folder. If you still fail to find the email, please try registering again with a different mail address.
  • By clicking the register button, you accept that you have read and understood all the instructions given in the admissions website of TISS.
  • The site works best on Latest version of Chrome(Download Chrome),Firefox (Download Firefox) and Internet explorer 8 and above
