Cochin University of Science and Technology Common Admission Test (CUSAT CAT) - Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility Criteria:
  • Candidates belonging to Kerala Scheduled Caste (KSC) and Kerala Scheduled Tribe (KST) communities are eligible for applying if they have minimum pass marks in the qualifying examination, unless specified otherwise.
  • SEBC candidates of Kerala State who are certified as belonging to non-creamy layer are eligible for 5% relaxation in the minimum required marks for qualifying examination unless specified otherwise, provided that the candidates have passed the qualifying examination.
  • For admission to M Tech programmes Candidates with a valid GATE score in the specified subject are eligible for 5% relaxation in the minimum required marks for qualifying examination unless specified otherwise, provided that the candidates have passed the qualifying examination.

  • Undergraduate Programmes: All undergraduate programmes, except Three Year LL. B programme and B.Tech Lateral Entry, are designed for students who have completed their 12th Grade (Plus Two) with required eligibility conditions. Only graduates with prescribed eligibility conditions can apply for Three year LL.B programme and Diploma holders with prescribed eligibility conditions can apply for B.Tech Lateral Entry programmes.
  • For Undergraduate programmes: Five marks relaxation is granted to the cutoff marks in Higher Secondary examination marks for admission to UG programmes of the University to those who have participated in Scouts, Guides, Rover, Ranger and earned “Rajyapuraskkar”, Nanmudra Certificate” during Higher Secondary level.
For B.Sc:

Class 12 pass in relevant Science stream (PCM /PCB) with 75% aggregate and should be below 23 years

For B.Tech:

Class 12 pass with 50% aggregate in PCM and 50% in Mathematics

For BBA LLB:

Class 12 pass with 60% aggregate in languages in Science or Commerce group Or with 55% aggregate including languages in Arts / Humanities stream. (5% relaxation for SC / ST / SEBC category)

For B.Voc:

Class 12 pass with 65% aggregate or equivalent CGPA with Mathematics / Statistics as one of the Subjects

For M.Sc:

BSc degree in relevant Science stream with minimum 55% aggregate

For MCA:

BCA or Bachelor's in Computer Science Or or BSc / BA / BCom with Mathematics in Class 12 with 50% aggregate
